Tucson, AZ – Senator Tim Bee launched his Energy Policy this morning in Tucson.
Bee stated “Our prosperity and strength as a nation begins with a strong
economy”. America is “reliant” on foreign sources of energy and because “we have
not diversified”, our economy is dependent on oil.
The address was given at a Tucson family owned small business and convenience
store. Bee highlighted the challenges and hardships brought on Arizonans by high
energy prices and a lack of a coherent energy plan by the incumbent and this
Congress. Retired, fixed income, small business owners and young families
surrounded Senator Bee as he explained the importance of action.
“Southern Arizonans are faced with the decision of putting fuel in their vehicle
or food on their table.”
Bee outlined a comprehensive plan that to bring fuel prices down today and
deliver energy independence in the future.
Bee urged, “We must put politics aside and put America’s future as our top
priority. We must support a balanced energy plan.”
Bee demanded environmentally sound exploration and development of America’s own
resources, and stressed the need for investment in science and technology to
pave the way to the next generation of diversified alternative energy sources.
